形態特徵

  • Large Evergreen shrubs; branchlets slender, brown-tomentose.
  • Leaves alternate, coriaceous, ovate, obovate to oblong, 3-6 cm long, 2-3.5 cm broad, acute at apex, acute, obtuse to rounded at base, deep brown, lustrous and glabrous above, light brown, somewhat glaucous beneath when dry, pubescent along midrib and veins, midrib and 4-5 pair lateral veins slightly elevated on both surfaces; petioles ca. 1.2 cm long, brown-tomentose.
  • Inflorescences umbellate-clusters, 5-6-flowered, axillary, with 3 or 4 bracts in male and female flowers; staminate flowers with perianth slightly pubescent at base outside; tepals 6, broadly ovate, 2 mm long, 1.6 mm broad, obtuse at apex; fertile stamens 9, filiform, anthers 2-celled, introrse, ovoid, 1 mm long, 1st and 2nd whorles of stamens eglandular, 3rd whorl with 2 sessile glands; reduced ovary obovoid, small, 0.9 mm long; pedicels 1.2 cm long; pistillate flowers with per-ianth campanulate; tepals broadly ovate, obtuse, ca. 1.5 mm long; staminodia 9, 3rd whorl of stamens glandular, filiform; ovary long ovoid; pedicels pubescent, 1-3 mm long.

  • 台灣 : growing in broad-leaved forests in lowlands throughout the island.
